UPDATE: This project hit the front page of Kickstarter today under popular. (nearly 12K in 6 hours!)

Launching today is Joey Spiotto’s (aka JO3BOT) latest endeavor – a new book of all of the Storytime pieces he’s made over the last few years. Check out the video.

We had the pleasure of collaborating with Joey on the video but it was so easy with such a great project. Plus we like a lot of the same fandoms. When we first began talking about it, Joey already had a plan outlined and did his homework to know what he wanted, what elements would be needed. This was crucial because then we could spend time working on how to convey the project in video form.

It’s important to do the work before you launch. Successful Kickstarter campaigns make a great impression. Artwork, great perks, solid video.

Joey has a good sized tribe. he’s been selling prints from his site for a reasonable price for nearly a decade and that’s the beauty of this campaign. You can get the book – all 125 images – for just $25. CRAZY! He’s allowing his current tribe (cultivation) and those who are new (acquisition) to get to the good stuff quick. Do they have to jump through a bunch of hoops? No, just $25 (less than the price of a print) and you can get all of them.

He also has some prints that allow the different fandoms to self-identify. They choose! What are you the most into? Video games? Sci-fi Tv shows? Superhero Movies? Eat your heart out.

As Joey explains in the video, he’s bringing some exclusives to the campaign as well. The Cornetto Trilogy from Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright, and Nick Frost (plus a bunch more) is now several prints. These works are a crucial piece to this project and we, the audience, can cash in. Woo!

The last smart thing Joey planned for was stretch goals. This tells the audience that when we make it – there’s no “if”. Joey is planning for success and he’s leading his tribe to it! The all important question of “What’s Next?” has already been answered.
